At the time I wasn't really too bothered with that, ahem I was a bit distracted on this excursion.

My missus knows the feeling, she always complained I paid far more attention to my mates Chopper than her :p BCECB1BC-C409-4797-9247-328AA811A071.jpeg photo is c/o Phillip Dean through Flicker.
Funnily enough my friends now getting his Chopper’s out regularly on the Mid Hants ;)

C1D29426-CFE3-4698-90B9-EF5146E935BA.jpeg Last August, myself and my mate (who’s a TM for Eurostar) in position to phot 37’s past work, there’s several other stories behind this photo, the easiest one to tell is the steps I’m on are usually used to clean Fermenting Vessels out, not phot double headed EE type 3’s :) Btw I was also being paid to do this! ‘Customer care as my gaffer put it!’ :):)

There were a few young ladies that were selected to go on a trade tour of America with Alan & 4472. I think some of them appeared in the Robson Green documentary about Scotsman from a few years ago. I could only find the picture below: gettyimages-829729406-2048x2048.jpg

I know the documentary you mean.
Without wanting to sound sexist, how do I put this?
They certainly looked better than me at my youthful age despite them having a few years on me!

There were quite a lot of us taking pictures of 46115 at the Salisbury water stop on that day. Some of us even took it in turns to have our picture taken standing between the two ladies...

Sorry to move on from attractive young ladies but I thought I would post this picture of a picture. It shows a B1 being preped by its crew at York North Shed, probably about 1965 given how empty the shed is. In the right hand corner is the turntable control which is about the only thing in that picture that is recognisable today. As it happened I was in the NRM while the same piece of machinery was being serviced and caught it as it rotated past the picture IMG_2772 copy.jpg

Is that why all the photographers are pointing their cameras at the A4 ;)

The crew of a Class 38 enjoy a station stop in the Black Forest. Apologies for the low quality of what is a scan of a print. Worryingly it was taken 49 years ago this summer.
