The IMG_5023.JPG Swanage Belle ready to depart on its return journey 21st September 2017. Diesel hauled to Southampton of course.
Residents loiter around 60009 Union of South Africa as a member of station staff signals to the guard, and an RTC steward mans his door.

We like our Heritage lines to recreate scenes from the past, but maybe not the one where there are lots of staff and no passengers!
Of course a look at the clock will show it is only three minutes until 31806 is due at 15:30 to depart and apart from any late arrivals everyone was on board.
Taken during a walk back from another visit to Boots where yet again my wife's prescription had not been dispensed when I got there (and waited 30 minutes unsuccessfully to find out it could not be). IMG_7109.JPG

The local populace have turned out in force to see the passage of 2-8-0 No. K184 passing tender first through a small wayside station in northern Victoria on an overcast Sunday afternoon on 28/11/71 - thats 50 years ago next week:eek:.

They said we'd bought a coffee pot so we did a few mod's on the last refit, you now get a latte this side and a cappuccino on the other. P1060709.JPG

Back in 2018 a former employee of British India Line brought along his prized company house flag when he travelled on the Scarborough Spa Express. During a quiet moment at the destination he and his wife pose with the flag alongside 35018's nameplate. He was in fact a member of the Friends of the NRM and part of their sales team that day.

Rochdale February 1968, Newton Heath's Black 5 44845 drifts down into the Manchester area with an empty wagon train, probably heading for Brewery sidings. The fireman no doubt contemplating the end of his day back at the shed after disposing of the loco. Meanwhile, the other railway man looks like it's day over walking down the platform, heading for home. people and trains 9999 001.jpg

Another one at Garsdale. Sir Lamiel gets an inspection and a drink in May 1982.
