    Re: Railway Video's on Youtube

Many thanks for the replies gentlemen.

Looking at BillR's efforts I fear that even when working with the original digits this particular video may be beyond redemption. But I have been inspired to delve a little deeper.

In the light of Ralph5407's comments about Studio10 having a lighten facility I've had a ferret around in 10Plus and found an "Add video effects overlay" drop down menu. This has a section headed "Chroma key" which gives slider adjustments in both a "Blue Screen Key" and a "Green Screen Key" for - Video Transparency, Tolerance, Minimum Saturation, Softness and Spill Suppression plus a tick box to "Enable chroma keying" (which is currently enabled). I guess what I asked for is in there somewhere but I need to learn a lot more about these functions. Oh dear I fear a brain overload coming.

Once again thanks for your encouragement chaps.

Chris, you were heading in the right direction but as Bill says ignore Chroma, The way I get to it is, when you have your clip in the edit section at the bottom of the screen, open tool box, select the bottom icon, 'Add an effect to a video clip', then select 'Studio Plus RTFX', then at the right scroll down to 'Lighting' and select. This will then give you 'Foreground Fill', 'Back Lighting', 'Video Gain', and ' Brightness'. Have a play with these.

Right Gents - I've got there at last. Thanks for your help. I've tried a little play and (to be honest) it's not that easy to get the right balance but at least I can now play till I get it right!
(I bet there's six year olds out there who could do it standing on their head but it'll take me a while longer.)

    Thanks again - Chris

Very nicely done. I particularly enjoy the way the two 34067 shots seem to fit the music's crescendos absolutely perfectly. Excellent!

A nice collection there Mike, mind you I may be a bit biased with the majority of the loco's featured being maroon or black...

Thanks Ralph. I have got one or two "green" ones which I will upload in the near future, but I guess that in the North West we have been blessed with more than our share of maroon or black.

    Re: Railway Video's on Youtube

I have recently joined YouTube. I am putting on my small collection of railway videos over the next few weeks. They are all taken using my digital camera (most with my old camera which wasn't very good) and usually taken at a time when I felt I couldn't get a decent picture (i.e. nearly dark/loco backwards etc)! So please excuse the poor quality but any comments would be well appreciated! My channel is...

Steam music by Philip Griffin - Feturing steam in the West Country on the mainline, WSR and other heritage lines. Very good it is too. It's quite uncanny how the action keeps in time with the music.!
