    Hi,

As an active member of the Quorn Wagon & Wagon group at the Great Central Railway, we have been progressing well with the restoration of Test Car 2.

It's great to be involved with the coach again, having worked for over 25 years at the RTC Derby, many times on this Test Car carrying out slip/brake testing.

I've written about my experiences of Rail Vehicle Testing and this is published in my book, for more info please see my webpage - https://www.bowerbooks.co.uk.

The book takes an in depth look at an area of the railway industry that is not often written about, bringing to life the subject for those with an interest in how trains were tested as well as the enthusiast looking back at the history of test train workings in the 1980s and 1990s.

Please get in touch if you'd like any more info, all the best,

    Dave

Have recently purchased a copy of your book. Very interesting read! I could have given you some official photographs of DW150192, Test Car 4.
    Thanks
    Nick

Nick, pleased you're finding the book interesting.
I've not seen many photos of the original Western Region Test Car 4, other than what Dave Coxon has on his webpage, http://www.traintesting.com/test_car_4.htm, it was just before my time at the RTC, therefore hasn't featured in my book :) however I'd be very interested to see the photographs.
