    The Gwili Steam Railway will be holding a 'Rail Oddities' gala event on Saturday June 18th. The aim of the event is to celebrate anything that is odd or unusual that runs on rails.

    Visitors to the event include:

    - Morse Fairbank pump trolley (built 1875), visiting from the GWS at Didcot (available for rides)
    - Wickham Trolley B40W, courtesy of the Somerset & Dorset Railway at Midsomer Norton (available for rides)
    - Ex-Severn Tunnel Track Inspection Landrover, courtesy of Alex Davies and the Dean Forest Railway.

    Highlights include;

    - Lifting demonstrations with ADRC 97614 ('Selwyn' the crane - recently arrived at the railway, owned by the Welsh Railway Trust): 1105, 1205, 1305, 1405 + 1505.
    - First fire-up in preservation of HST power car N0.43056 (owned by the Welsh Railway Trust), including plaque unveiling
    - 1369, Moorbarrow and D2178 operating a busy service of passenger trains throughout the day
    - Wickham trolley rides at Bronwydd Arms
    - Pump trolley rides at Bronwydd Arms
    - Miniature traction engines at Bronwydd Arms
    - Sales and display stands from railway societies
    - 'The Bookshed' open for bargains (GRPS book shed)
    - 16mm live steam models on display, including some 'oddities' (models of Roland Emmett locos etc)

    Train rides will be available throughout the day, using '1366' pannier No.1369 (visiting from the SDR), RSH No.7846 "Moorbarrow" and class 03 D2178. Trains depart at 1015, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500 and 1645.

    There will be a late afternoon cavalcade of Oddities at Bronwydd Arms at 4pm, with each vehicle processing through the station across the level crossing. This will be narrated live by Lawrie Rose (of the 'Lawrie's Mechanical Marvels' YouTube series). Vehicles expected to be included in this are;

    - 1369
    - Moorbarrow
    - D2178
    - ADRC 97614 (Selwyn the crane, travelling under it's own power)
    - Wickham Trolley B40W
    - Morse Fairbank pump trolley
    - Track Inspection Landrover
    - Geismar 2w-2wPMR Trolley
    - RRV ('Rhodri the Road Railer' - resident at the railway)

    A copy of the timetable is attached: copies of the WTT will be available on here for free soon too. We are aiming for a 'depot open day' type atmosphere at Bronwydd Arms on the day, with pump trolley rides, Wickham rides, crane demonstrations, stalls, 16mm live steam and frequent train movements on the running line.

    Do join us if you can! Let us know if you have any questions.

    Diolch,

    Phil.
