    I believe that the engine from the Ryde was removed a long time ago.

    Maybe you were thinking of PS Lincoln Castle which there was an outcry about when she was scrapped without saving the engines?

    I had forgotten about her - yes. At least we still have the little paddler at Hartlepool, and the big 'un in the form of Waverley :)
