Sure thing, I saw her last week and she looks pretty smart. Be great to see with a viable future but just what that would take I don't know . . . .

Asking price of 20K seems more than reasonable. Lets hope the PSPS continue to show interest.

According to Steam railway magazine Ryde is to be scrapped despite the petition having over 2000 signatures.

Lets hope this is not true.

    Hi Martin,

I thought scrapping had temporarily stopped, and in the meanwhile the vessel has been inspected regarding a proposed preservation attempt or what can be done with her.

    News seems very sketchy.

Anymore info would be gratefully received.

The Lincoln's situation is well known where it needs to be - but will only be approached realistically and taking into account factors which have already been detailed in this thread and others which have not.

Thirty five years of operating preserved ships does not lead any organisation to rush into things

It would appear that alls not lost, the marina has been declared bancrupt, so now Ryde belongs to the irish state bank, and a group has been started to try to purchase it , but i read its going to cost in the region of 10 million to restore it, is this right, or a mistake somewhere? im all in favour of seeing heritage boats such as ryde, manxman and balmoral returning to the coastal waters of this country but im biassed because i believe that heritage is worth fighting for
