Does anyone know whether the Saturday train from Fort William to Mallaig ran as steam only or with a tail gunner?

Thanks Jonathan. I'd thought about having a ride up but decided against it - I'm glad I didn't knowing that!

Expect there may have been difficulties crewing steam past Fort William if DBC were supporting the job in any way as they are thin on the WHL these days (mostly a GBRF route now). DBC still support LSL on a lot of these jobs according a few crews that have posted elsewhere. LSL appears to have at least one driver with past WHL knowledge from DRS days but no idea if he is passed out on steam as yet so would make sense if Mallaig was diesel operated utilising that driver.
