    26 / 27 December: Hourly service from SP to HK only, from 10am to 4pm. (I think this has been curtailed on account of the storms - the plan had been our normal service 2 two train service)

    28 - 31 December and 1st January: Normal full line service 2 timetable (09:45 / 11:00 / 12:15 / 13:30 / 14:45 / 16:00 ex-SP and an hour later ex-EG)

    Quite likely that those services may see the first "public" (as opposed to pre-booked) running of 847, but I'll know when the STN comes out.

    After that, normal weekend-ony running starts (but note the DMU service HK-EG in the last two weeks of January due to the infrastructure works south of HK).

    Re. Bluebell - updated STN issued this evening states 847 is indeed rostered for the revised service on Boxing Day and Friday:
    http://www.bluebell-railway.com/event/26th-and-27th-december/
    Reason for closure north of Horsted Keynes is a landslip on the east side of the line just south of the tunnel.

    Churnet Valley Railway - Winter Warmers December 28/29

    Mince Pies will run with 2 departures from Froghall at 1030 and 1320 as per Blue Timetable but with a twist.
    Due to us only being able to run to Bridge 20, the train will return to LBJ before making another attempt up the bank as far as Apesford, before then returning to Froghall. So 1x Round trip will work as follows;
    Froghall - Bridge 20 - Leek Brook Jcn - Apesford Crossing - Froghall (Steam / 33 Leading)

    Steam Loco will be S160 6046 or N7 69621.

    Prices as follows;
    Adult - £16
    Senior - £14
    Child (4-14) - £10
    Under 4s - Free
    Family (2A2C) - £45
    Dogs / Cycles - £1.50
    One Carer can travel Half Price with one fare paying disabled person.

    If anyone is around 28th come and say hi, I'm on whichever steam loco is chosen.

    Steven, the footplate Roster and WTT show all steam due to non-availability of steam heat diesel. Are you out of date or have things changed again?

    Or is it option 3 - being a bit dim!

    Yes, you are right, D5061 has retired hurt (and I was aware of that), so it will have to be all steam to be heated - despite what the website says!

    Thanks for reminding me!

    All the best in clearing the landslip. I hope that the next lot of wind and rain doesn't result in another one! Thanks too to whoever does the website for informing everyone about the enforced change of timetable so promptly. I'm down in the area for Christmas and am looking forward to a trip to EG and back on Saturday. 847 and 45231 sound a pretty good combination.
