Some additional information from a man who definitely knows. When speed dropped into single figures on the Mur de Tenby, a request was made for assistance from the Class 66. Thing was it was in an idle mode that a driver I know told me about - one that requires the train to be stopped to engage drive. The crew decided to press on rather than bring the train to a stand, and the rest is history; an amazing unassisted climb by 60163. Probably a feat that only Tornado of the big wheeled pacifics could have pulled off.
