Just having a look at the Vintage Trains website and it looks like the DSR is getting a visit from D1015 Western Champion in early April next year, hauling the Devionian railtour between Tyseley and Kingswear.

Nice. The DSR could put the 25 into service on the same day, might attract some more oil heads!

Which locomotives are currently out and when will they next swap? Am I right in thinking it's 4277 & 7827 facing Kingswear with 5239 towards Paignton?

5239 and 4277 are out at the moment, they swapped 7827 for 4277 on Friday so it will be a week or so before the next swap I would think. Your correct in which way the engines are facing.

So 7827 has been turned to face Kingswear?

Do you have any idea what will be working on Saturday?

    Thanks

What's working the orange timetable this week? I'd love to see 5239.

I'm making my first (photographic) visit to the railway on Sunday. Any idea what will be out and what way it will be facing? I'm probably going to see the 1415 departure from Paignton.

That is Broadsands Viaduct :) Hookhills is the larger one nearest Churston. Apologies for being picky! Great shots though, and if its any consolation, the organisation which puts blue plaques on historic buildings got it wrong too. Hookhills has a plaque on it saying it is Broadsands Viaduct!

No need to apologise! love the pics, especially 4277 in action from the observation car and the benches shot at Kingswear

Making a trip to the railway this Wednesday, (04/09), probably travelling on the 10:45 departure from Paignton, returning on the 15:00 or 15:45 from Kingswear. Any idea which locos will be in operation, and whether the observation car will be in use on any of these workings ?

    Many thanks

On the orange timetable the Devon Belle was on the 10am each morning from Paignton and then alternate trains through the day
