Tornado today was extremley impressive! I saw it today on the evening return run at Churston and Paignton, and she looked extremely good. Even in the rain she didn't slip much with her heavy load, and apparantly coped much better than Tangmere did on Goodrington banks. =D>

My pictures will be up on my fotopic site soon.

I think the P&D crews did well with her. The mainline chaps were a bit too keen getting away from Paignton a couple of weeks ago though:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKUb-az8024

EDIT, happened in exactly the same spot on the 12th too - see this at 2,48 into the clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMK_GBav ... annel_page

As for Tangmere - my opinion of that loco is changing. I am more impressed than I used to be. She put in a great effort on the Sunny South from Weymouth on Upwey bank without the rostered shove from the rear (incompatible couplings! - why bother, just buffer up!)

I have to agree with you there Stu, she has been performing well recently. Although I think that it will be more the case of the driver rather than the loco...

Yes I got a nice view of the pair of them side by side in the headshunt on Saturday. Unfortunately I was driving and camera was packed away or I'd have taken a pic

Yeah 4277 & 7827 were in service Monday when I visited. 'On Track' Cafe at Paignton serves lovely Bacon Rolls and I'm sad that I didn't buy any of that Coffee and Walnut cake. Had a great day riding and linesiding, weather was brilliant. Might visit again in October.
