Possibly it was I'm not sure forget these things after a while, too many details to remember worrying about the ones in service but I think you are right now you mention it.

No sign of a Castle anywhere at Paignton is there? One suggestion was that Nunney might be sent to P&DSR for axle box repair. Personally, I would have thought they could do it in Hackney Sidings - provided they had the bits?

The castle is coming. She was suffering from another problem which must be rectified before leaving Hackney sidings, once that is done she'll come to paignton and be lfted to assess the damage.

Me thinks you may be counting your chickens there, but it did happen with UOSA didn't it so who knows!!
Unfortunately I won't be able to visit he at Paignton anyway not much point if shes in the shed anyway, and I'll be having much more fun on the SDR.

Heres a wild thought (Unfortunately I've lost my tin hat) how long will these repairs take to complete?
Could they potentially tak a month with running and checking etc, if so I make four weeks time the 9th & 10th May, only a wild suggestion though :-k :-k :-k

I guess it depends what commitments Nunney has as to how long she can hang about on the Riviera, but as you elude to, she might become start of the show at the heritage w/e by accident!

THE WELSH MARCHES EXPRESS 11/04/09 Postponed to 16th May 09

So again the plot thickens [-o< #-o :-k

Nothing much showing on UK Steam for 5029, next trip showing is The Welsh Marches on May 16 (Tyseley - Gloucester) with engine change to 5043 at Hereford, this is a re-sheduled run from April. Enjoy her presence whilst you can.

Maybe it's a massive conspiracy to get her there for the 10th may.

On a serious note presumably the fault is related to the hotbox as surely something has to be done to this before it can be moved??
It would be good to see her at the Heritage weekend though even if only on display perhaps.

5029 arrived just after 11.00am with support coach. 5029 now in Churston shed and will be on site for a few weeks for any work to be carried out, after which she will have to be 'run-in'.
It is most likely she will be here for the heritage weekend.
The Manor was removed from the shed and is on stood on the turntable to make room for 5029

Is 7827 going to be running during the Heritage Weekend then as obviously her repairs have now been put on hold while the repairs are done to Nunney

It would be nice to see both 4-6-0s and 2-8-0s in service. 7827 piloting 5029 with Torbay Express headboard [-o<

On one hand I hope Nunney's repairs are quick - so 7827 is repaired and ready for May, on the other hand, I hope they are not so fast that she departs as quickly as she arrived and isnt around for the gala!
Might need to steal the crossover at Goodrington in the dead of night so 5029 is stranded - forever! It would be so appropriate for the P&DSR to have a resident Castle - but I am more likely to become the owner of 6024 or something before that ever happens!!
