Departing Swanage Pier this morning heading for that big rock out in the bay (or as @Paulthehitch itch calls it the Isle of Wight).
With Manston back in service today on the railway as well, what not to like.:) IMG_2582.JPG

But wouldn't @paulhitch prefer a rowing boat? None of these over-sized transport devices please!!

The oversized transport device is not the boat but the Bulleid. :Resistanceisfutile:

Maybe, but authentic motive power for the Swanage branch.

Hardly. After the M7s expired normal haulage was by 4MT tank.

Hmm. Surely on an island where the pre-preservation motive power was 0P, having a fleet of 2MTs and 4Fs is excessive?

Passing Durdle Door yesterday (10th September)

She blew her whistled and we got cheers back from the beach!

Note one of the officers taking a picture.

I wonder if anyone got a picture of her through that Durdle Door arch.

A shot I'm sure has been done many times, but a first time for me getting Waverley setting off down the Thames this morning.

Was hoping to get a first cruise on her tomorrow, but after booking tickets today to do the round trip from Clacton via Sealand it's been cancelled this evening. Small defect found in one of the paddle wheels, hopefully back in action soon.

It had a few trips cancelled a couple of weeks back due to paddle wheel faults, so hopefully it'll last until the end of the season and they have a bit of time to get her repaired.
