No pictures from Thursday as it was a big tidy up day geeting ready for Monday. Monday there will be a big move around to clear up the station site. The grounded van bodies will move and the portakabin will find a new home. Blog will be updated on Monday, we have a bank holiday and I have been volunteered to work on the house.

The 2nd June we will be holding a model railway exhibition in Oswestry station in conjunction with Ellesmere Model Railway Club. Club layouts will be on display and trains will be operating from the station. Come along and take a look and please spread the word.

Thursday was a busy day with many people on site doing many different jobs in preparation for the long weekend.

More track was laid in the centre road.

Many thanks for your kind comments. Hopefully updates should be back to being at least once per week or even twice. I seem to have spent too much time on planes in the last two months.

The weather did not help on Thursday so there are no pictures. Work continues around the sites.
Once the weather dries up we should be able to progress the linking up of the two bits of the extension.

Another big hole has appeared in Oswestry which we should be filling in soon. Some stock has started to move at Weston and the next load of sleepers arrives.

On Thursday we made it in to double figures with 10 track panels now laid in the centre road.
The Model Railway Exhibition is gathering pace with more stands being added.
Lots more projects in the pipeline and running events which are well attended and generate income is key to our longer term aims.

The blog is really interesting and informative. Later on this year I'm going to Porthmadog for a week's holiday and Oswestry isn't too far off my route, so time permitting, I think a short diversion to actually see what's going on would be worthwhile.

We are always very pleased to have people pop by and see what we are up to. Have a look round the museum and a bite to eat at 'Buffers' but if you are coming mid week please check the web sites to confirm opening hours.
The changes in the last couple of years are notable and the next year will see further progress. Although we have funding in place for many activities still more is needed and also more volunteers. I am particularly pleased to see that we have had two new volunteers in the last three weeks and they seem to be enjoying themselves to keep turning up. Proper volunteer's facilities are being installed which is another good step forward.
Thanks to everyone that supports us in whatever way and we hope to see you soon.

Bank Holiday running saw trains down to just before the bridge. The extra sleeper on the other side of the slab has been inserted. More photos will be up on the blog tomorrow.

OK so I am highly biased but the last picture on the latest update makes me feel so proud. Oswestry station is looking better every week. If you knew the station in it's dark years with everything overgrown you would have to rub your eyes to see and believe the transformation. All of my pictures from those days are back in the UK, I'll have to search on line for one so you can see how far we have come with so little.

Well done so far with the progress of reaching weston and the painstaking restoration of oswestry station and goods yard and how well the platelayers have got every yard of track laid over the months is a victory to gradually reinstating some of the gobowen to llynclys south and pennygarreg lane halt and porth y waen northward eventually. Keep up the good work i keep my eyes open for the updates off ilvarporista.

Today the CHR presence at Gobowen became real. The recently repainted tank wagon now resides at Gobowen advertising CHR to the station visitors and passengers. I will update the blog later with a picture.
