Pictures now uploaded and the latest information is that work on the remaining section to Weston will start in February. The hope is to start the new operating season with trains reaching Weston. Money for track is in place but we need more hands, fancy joining in?

Today rails were laid to within one length of the slab under the bridge. I will try and update the blog soon but not sure if I can from my phone. Otherwise it will be after New Year.
    Edit: Photos now uploaded

I was interested to see a piece about the work at Oswestry on the local ITV Midlands news this evening.

I can't see that it's available to watch on the ITV Hub, unles it's just that my searching ability is no good :)

Central News only has the main features on their website so our little story did not make it

The project is stepping up a gear now. In addition to Thursday we will now also have a team working on Tuesdays. We shall see how that develops.
This week multiple jobs were underway around the site.
As ever details on the blog.

We have managed to source copies of the recent news items from our friends at Central News. Links on the blog.
I will post again later in the week with views from the bridge down to the cattle creep.

Noted your use of Steel Sleepers in the Bullhead on Concrete stretch.
Not sure if the requirement for a minimum of 4 timber sleepers at the transition from Conc to Steel, still holds for BH track, I know it is needed for FB steel sleepers.
On NWR renewals we used to put 6 timbers in the transition.

I'll check that. The requirement set out on the submitted plan was two but always willing to learn. Thanks for your input

It's 2 sleepers of the same material either side of a joint. Concrete, Timber etc
Which is what you did as described in your piece.
Another point is that the Spade ends on BH Steel sleepers are not really deep enough to dig in and provide lateral resistance, when compared with newer FB Steel sleepers.
You will need to ensure that the shoulders are built up to at least CWR standards and not to Jtd BH standard.

Thanks for the information. The top ballast will go later and be spread over the ends and we'll keep a watching eye for movement. Yesterday the new Tuesday team started putting in rail and keys. I've updated again with photos and the explanation of the next section to be tackled.

Hope that progress continues at such a rate, best of luck.

Another few updates to the blog. The Tuesday Team grew by 100% in numbers this week and one size round the waist as some took advantage of the offer of doughnuts.. I am saying nothing but Chairmen do tend to lead by example!

I seem to be posting every day but so much is going on.
Yesterday the contractors came and installed the baseplates and rail through the bridge. Another big step for CHR.

The Tuesday Team assembled another three panels yesterday. Plus first rail movements on both parts of the extension.
