Here's Oliver Cromwell departing last night.
(FYI I was in a safe position, on a non operating line, in safety gear and with permission) IMG_0256.JPG

Thanks Nick and Paul for your replies. I wondered if 6023 had been taken to Southall to begin her ML test runs.

Would've be nice if the 50s were cordoned off for photographs at the start then opened up. Fantastic day and weather to match.

Great pity the King did not have the opportunity to be adequately displayed yesterday.. why did other locos benefit from optimal positioning for visitors. The King was inaccessible during all the time I was at the depot. Very sad for those involved with the loco & GWS

Fantastic event apart from that cloud that spent around two hours over the sun in a predominantly blue sky until finally relenting at 3.45pm.

Marvellous day with a super line-up and great atmosphere - well done to all involved in the organisation!

My one regret is that the "stars" of the show were not as accessible for inspection and admiration as I'd have liked, if only for a short while. Apart from that, the day was a huge success.

I heard rumours that a 180 was going to be painted green, one that already had a mix of blue and green! I assume this isn't true?

I was wondering if anybody was going to post the Big Wheel shot.. I went on and got it .. so glad we were facing the line up!!
I watched that cloud all afternoon .. it moved with the sun as you say ..then when it came out there was a mad rush to get the 50 line up in the sun....

It was in the middle of the wheel lathe building.

I struggled to find it but as Black 5 said it was in the Wheel Lathe shed.. The entrance where it was was behind the 180 with the new vinyls on as you walked up the path where all the stalls were. Heres the creator of the layout, Steve Pike.. View attachment 30007
