Four unrelated photographs from the 1970s. Any ideas on the two mystery locomotives gratefully received.

    Haminex Odds and Sods

My first move from number taking to photography was black and white using a cheap non SLR Haminex “point and shoot” camera with poor depth of field and poor focus around the edges of the frame. All I thought I had from those days are a number of 6x4 prints and no records. However I recently came across the negatives and here are a couple from that time. I moved from black and white to 35mm transparencies and shot a few rolls still using the non SLR Haminex and one from that time is also included. Feedback and comments welcome.

All I thought I had from those days are a number of 6x4 prints and no records. However I recently came across the negatives and here is a shot from that time. I moved from black and white to 35mm transparencies and better SLR cameras and as my photographic skills improved so did the quality control on what was acceptable for the collection. Those transparencies that failed the quality control were generally consigned to the waste paper bin. However a few survived and with the technology now available a passable image can be made from some of these. I have been experimenting with a further batch of transparencies and this collection contains a couple that have been from a photographic point of view “reinstated to traffic from the scrap line”. Feedback and comments welcome.

One of my early colour slide efforts using the cheap non SLR Haminex “point and shoot” camera which was badly under-exposed but after a number of attempts I have been able to make something out of it. Also a black and white instamatic shot from 1968 included here more for its historic memories rather than any form of photographic merit. Feedback and comments welcome.
