That looks pretty reasonable to me! Heritage Railway has a decent article on the NYMR, as an introduction to what looks a candidate for Gala of the Year 2013.

Was or has the K4 been considered a canidate for the gala as well? 61994 and 62005 have been a hit at ELR.

I would love to attend this event. But it looks like I'll be volunteering at Ffestiniog for a week during track & hostel maintenance.

Can anyone please shed any light on this please. GREAT BRITAIN VI DAY 9 involves 60009 from Edinburgh to York, then from York to LKX 60007.

60007 has been out of action for some months now (sadly) and from what I am aware, has not ran on the NYMR yet. Isn't sending it out on the mainline a little risky? I appreciate that it has to earn some money to pay for its bills but isn't this risking its appearance at the gala by sending it a couple of hundred miles from home with a busy gala to attend??

62005 is planned to be arriving at the NYMR on Saturday 30th March after its trip on the Wansbeck. It is planned to run 28th April, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th May.

No. 7 won't be on the Great Britain this year. Repairs not completed due to incorrect components supplied by a contractor. The Trust hope to have the loco running at the galas though.

Can I put in a plea to the NYMR that all guest engines take part on all days of the gala and that the timetable includes info as to which way around the locos are. Oh, and in addition, can we please have non of the chimney to chimney double headers that have been such a negative feature of previous galas.

    Regards

Anything else your lordship requires, perhaps you would like to contact the NYMR and tell them how to run their railway.

Paying to travel or videovegging for free if your demands are met?
A roster would be a step forward for NYMR never mind directions facing.
PS.If there is a kettle shortage 5061/7628/31128/37264 face both ways

Another request for... Well, not too fussed about most of the above, but could we have a roster available in advance please? Only really interested in No.29, so I'd rather not do a 300 mile round trip to find it's on freights, or does one shuttle, the day I choose to go!

A bit of an unnecessary comment. People who pay to ride trains at a gala (often going to considerable expense with travel and accommodation) are customers and it is not an unreasonable customer request to know which locos are working and even which direction they face. Personally, I ride some of the trains and photograph others.

Several railways put their rosters on line; others sell programmes. I am perfectly happy to pay, but it would be helpful (and would encourage me to attend) if these rosters were made available well in advance.

I hope a pdf programme via the online shop as per 175th gala should be available to purchase before the gala giving the history of the last 40 years of the line including rosters etc??

    Perhaps Bean Counter can confirm.

That is correct. An update was posted to 'Members area' of the SNGLPT website last week.

What about a QJ, one of those standard gauge New South Wales Garratts, and the Starship "Enterprise"?

"Moorbarrow" never actually ran on the NYMR. I don't suppose she ever will.

I have today asked if there is going to be a timetable released prior the gala and they tell me that this was due to be released by now but they have been experiencing website problems so cant get it loaded. It should be resolved in the next few days. A brochure is also going to be available for the gala.
