Now, I take it that's still by 73050's tender and isn't the smart wagon parked up next to the little DB shunter on the turntable?

At the moment, we are planning to get the two which are almost done ready for this, which would bring the total currently available to six vans. I'm not sure what else is intended to be used for the charter - the freight experience ran with six wagons plus two brake vans, although I believe the maximum number available for the rake is 14 wagons, if they are all fit to run. We have a group meeting on 16th after which I may have a better answer.

Following on from the Tornado freight charter, Martello is expected to be hauling some demo freight at NVR Southern Steam Gala on 9th/10th March (as well as Yarwell shuttles).

Maximum effort from the guys on site yesterday (sadly I had to be at my real job) and Tim has posted an update and photos on FB, reproduced below for those who don't do it.

    https://www.facebook.com/nvrwagongroup/posts/945240242332617

"With a Tornado Photo Charter looming early in the New Year, almost all of the group were on site yesterday to get three vans back into traffic.

B759852 had its brakes adjusted following the fitting of new wheels a few months ago.

B786075 had a faulty buffer replaced.

B785122 was lifted to build up worn horns on one axle.

All in all it was hard work, but a good result. Fingers crossed now that all three pass their fitness to run exams and get to run behind Tornado on 4th January."

Further to my previous answer, it is my understanding that the rake on Friday will consist of six vans, four open wagons and four hoppers (not sure whether there will be one or two brake vans)...

Are there any photographs from the day yet? I really wanted to come, but circumstances prevailed.

That'd be great, because I find Fakebook a real PITA and avoid it where practicable. :)

Lucky to have had the river so still yesterday :) Great pictures (especially the platform-side stuff), pity I couldn't make it myself but as I mentioned, circumstances prevailed.

Myself, I'm looking forward to seeing Helga's trailer in service :)

Worth all the effort - even though I wasn't able to be there either :(

Seen some cracking photos and video on the NVR volunteers group, but not mine to publish here I'm afraid.
