This weekend is on the passenger section between Caverswall Rd and Dilhorne Park only.

Couldn't possibly comment on any future opportunities.

Couldn't possibly expect anything more ;)

But a charter out of Foxfield and up the bank might prove a financial boost - where's Sidmouth when you need him ?

The Trustees will do any thing if it brings in funds !. I doubt that we would run them on the bank in public before any charters however, and we did recently run No61 on the CVR so perhaps the end of the year...

Steam Rly Mag made public that an additional 3x coaches have been found nr Rudyard. Going off Dave's reports there isn't much left of them to restore in their own right, but enough to help with 28 restoration and the planned Brake Coach.

The weekend was very successful, loadings on the Knotties were good, one train carrying almost 60 passengers over the two coaches. Here's a couple of snaps I grabbed whilst on guard duties.

Given that the remains of the WHHR buffet car arrived in the back of an estate car ....... there is quite a bit of those carriages at Rudyard (and before you ask, yes - I've seen them and not just images .......) quite enough to be the base for restorations.

That is good news, and it is lucky you were pointed to these remains and now you have many years work to bring them back into use for a good size vintage train.

The thing about the Rudyard coaches is that no less than three books have been written about the NSR owned enterprise that was a ( perhaps the ) major attraction a the area a century ago. That there were once a great number of coaches in the area is know understood, this one site had four ( a further burnt out frame was on the site ) but the coaches were only found in March.

The discovery of the two firsts and the latter discovery of the brake 3rd is significant. In the last three weeks we have secured a frame for the 3rd, recoverd the remains of all three coaches and delivered the brake 3rd components to Stanegate. Our aim is to restore NSR 1st No28 and the brake 3rd within two years, coach five will be in effect be the spare to allow one coach to recieve TLC on rotation, this may well be one of the Rudyards - perhaps restored as a 1st / 2nd compo ,we shall see. Actions speak loader than words but the is a great deal going on.

The Brake van sides are now at Foxfield, what a week !.

The Knotty Trust will be taking coach 61 to accompany Bellerophon as the centrepiece display to the National Model Railway Exhibition at the NEC over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd November. An ideal opportunity to raise the profile of both the NSRRSRT and Foxfield Railway.
