Do NNR currently run trains to Cromer? Or was that another COVID fatality???

Not running at the moment and don't believe they will this year. I think it's to do with operational issues rather than anything else, as they planned to run last year before issues with the mainline certified diesel they have meant they could not. 76084 did do a light engine run to Cromer and back as a crew refresher.

Not sure if the Cromer trains actually made a huge profit? Great for publicity though

The Cromer trains were operated under the NYMR’s safety case. I’m not aware of this arrangement being continued going forward.

Though Tornado will not be visiting, I see the railway will be running a mixed train over the coming week. Fairly intensive Maroon timetable (11 departures from Sheringham) with two steam and one diesel loco in service. Seen elsewhere it should be Black Prince, 76084 and the Class 37 this weekend. Though Y14 564 is now back in traffic following boiler repairs.

Also, the timetables for the Mixed Traction Gala are now online. Just got links from Facebook for now, presumably will be added to the website in due course.

We took a day on the NNR today (53809 and the lovely 564 in traffic, plus a DMU). There's a lot I could comment on, but I'll just leave the comment from Mrs J^2 - "it's a railway that feels well loved". I know what she means.

Pretty much my wifes comment a few years ago, that there was 'pride' in the line and it was well looked after

I see the timetable for the 'Autumn Showcase' gala on 7th-8th October is up on the website: https://www.nnrailway.co.uk/autumn-showcase/

    Locos Rostered
    Y14 564
4MT 76084 (Last event before overhaul)
    7F 53809
    Class 31 D5631
    Class 08s D3635 & D3940

Also the recently restored Class 104 driving car will be running on the DMU. Goods trains, Vintage set and quad arts all in service. At Holt, Reedham Junction signal box will be open to the public.

Is there a roster for this coming Saturday?

When does 76084's boiler ticket actually expire? Is there a send out planned?

    Thanks!

Autumn Showcase will be 76084’s last event appearance. Boiler ticket runs out in December but difficult to do much in the way of a farewell then with Norfolk Lights Express and Santa Specials running.

This coming Saturday will see D9537’s last trips before she departs. Last I heard steam is likely to be 53809 for most of this week - subject to usual caveats.

Hoping 76084 makes a return as soon as possible. Black Prince’s overhaul can’t be far off either.

I guess the line (hopefully) has Ring Haw and the N2 returning in near future
