34028 Eddystone will be visiting for the Spring gala.

To my knowledge first time a rebuilt Bulleid has visited the line.

First time a Bullied has ever operated on the line since 34081 left.
34007 came close, but it was sent back after arriving too late.

Be interesting to see what they decide to do with it. :Bored:

Thought 34067 had visited in 2012 for the Titfield Thunderbolt event

OK, yep, I asked for that.
I meant as in, some double-heading, which set it is / isn't allowed to pull, goods turns, you know? The usual.
I also think we shouldn't rule out visitor 2 (whatever it maybe) as the same thing might apply to that as well.

    Wasn't that a railtour with 9466 top-n-tailing?
I don't know if you would call that specifically operating on the line, I personally wouldn't.

If 34067 hauled the rail tour from Sheringham to Holt I would call that operating on the line, but fair enough if that’s what you think.

Presentation of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service took place on Thursday

    upload_2023-3-25_11-18-58.jpeg

The award recognises and celebrates the excellent contributions of voluntary groups, and we are very proud of our volunteers and delighted that they have received official recognition for their ongoing dedication to the Railway.

Due to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II the official award ceremony was postponed until this week when Deputy Lieutenant's of Norfolk Adel MacNicol and Patrick Peal visited the line and presented the award to volunteer representatives of the railway.

Dignitaries and guests then enjoyed a celebratory Cream Tea aboard a special train including our newly refurbished first class dining carriage hauled by "Black Prince". The wonderful work done by our Carriage & Wagon staff and volunteers on this coach was remarked upon by many guests and we think they deserve an extra round of applause for the brilliant job they have done!

76084 is a very, very nice engine. Apparently it found it's 'loud' setting at just the right time!
Thank you for letting it come to Swanage.

As posted on the Spring Gala thread, 34028 arrived at Sheringham yesterday. It is due to run on all four days over the Easter weekend as well as at the gala, will be Steam 1 on the timetable on the NNR website.

    34028 strutting her stuff today

“Eddystone" has proved very popular and in addition to her scheduled trains tomorrow, we are delighted that she is now going to operate on more days than originally planned and will be working on Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12 & Thursday 13 April as well as the gala on 14, 15 and 16 April. Full details on the website. www.nnrailway.co.uk/opening-dates/

Many thanks to Swanage Railway and SLL for facilitating the additional days.
