Good grief... It did?! Well, I suppose we can't hold that against it's merit for preservation...

Perchance are there many other railways that have still have a industrial engine from their early days? I know the GWSR have the locomotive that pulled their first train after reopening under a loan with them, getting it cleaned up as a static display.

Two different locos, both owned by the railway:

This one was on hire to the contractor that built the line: http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/loco_static.html#sharp It has never run in Bluebell service (and probably never will).

This one: http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/pics/nlr_tank.html was hired to the contractor who demolished the line in the early 1960s; ironically, the Bluebell made desperately-needed money from the hire, probably never imagining that they would one day rebuild most of the lines taken up at that time.

Sadly not any more, Cadbury No.1 has been sat outside the turntable at Tyelsey looking rather forlorn for some time now. :( I can't remember when it left the railway last, it was in the dock at Toddington during 2010 but that was prior to my involvement proper with the railway.

Latest Steam railway states that the bottom end will still be completed at Tyseley but the F5 Society are having negotiations with the NNR about having the loco move at some point. So nothing seems to have been agreed.

Just wondered if anyone got any photos of the WD in Weybourne yard during the gala?

WD 90775 was in light steam today, they seemed to be amusing themselves playing with "that" whistle!

The M&GN Society Facebook page has posted some pics. Just got me thinking how much the NNR has changed and improved since the WD was last in steam back in 2009. Looking forward to seeing it double head with Black Prince.

First time I have noticed the March 31B shedplate. Guess this is just a little artistic licence, as the BR WD 2-10-0s were (I think) all shedded in Scotland? Though there were a number of WD 2-8-0s at March.
