Can we consider Entries closed now

I'll look into whether we can set up such a large poll with all the images .

My suggestion is that we use a poll to get down to a top 12 and then I have a guest judge to select the winner if everyone is happy

Not that I mind, but why the need for a guest judge? Surely, the winner is the one that gets the most votes? Otherwise, it's just one persons opinion.

I think a democratic poll from the NP members would be the best way to decide rather than relying on any outside figure.

One burning question - how is the poll going to set up. so that you cannot vote for yourself?

Or vote multiple times as a Guest - as per the FS livery poll?

And the Guest judge has an eye for good photos, also is independent which I think is really important.

What's the point of the poll then?

Never mind the poll. Just get the guest judge to pick the winner, then we can finish this thread. It's got very tedious.

Gents I will now lock this thread until the poll opens

There are a large number of images which in all fairness to our guest should be whittled down to the Nat Pres favourite 12. You are voting for what will go into the Nat Pres Calendar . Ian Tiley has done a cracking job with the web page for which many thanks are due . Once we have our final 12 these will be submitted to our guest judge (who is a photographer of some merit in his own right and has an eye for a great picture) which will become the front cover . As others have noted the voting on here is unintentionally not quite ideal and so I do think an independant judge is a not unreasonable solution .

    All

Firstly thank you very much for all the contributions, everyone should be genuinely proud of their efforts , Ian for his fantastic work on the website and everyone who took the trouble to vote

We have an amazing final selection which is an absolute credit to the cameramen (and women) of Nat Pres

We had a 3 way tie for the final spot . Since it was Jason Hull , myself and Admin , Admin having the casting vote went out of the window , and since I didn't vote (ran out of time ) and could have voted for myself thus consigning Jason and Admin out of the competition (hardly fair either ) I have put all three into the final selection . Please fell free to voice your disapproval if you think I've done the wrong thing

Ian's updated the gallery , please have a look http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/irtmainpage/np2010photo/NP2010Photos.html
