    Hi guys

here are a few photos of my first exhibiton layout I built

its based on Liverpool Crown street goods yard, I reasearched it extensively and a freind and I built it.

Liverpool crown street was the terminus of the Liverpool and Manchester railway, but soon outgrew the site and a new station was built at Lime street, crown st then became a goods depot, mainly household coal.
there was also a gravity controlled line through a tunnel to the liverpool docks which was operated by special brake vans, this is featured on the layout too.

the layout is set in the period late 1950s early 1960s. when the site was still busy, remnents of the old station where still to be seen, and when the housing nearby was being demolished and replaced due to wartime bombing.

the layout has been seen at several shows around the country, it is EM gauge with handbuilt points, I carved all the cobbles myself from modelling clay.
    some photos of the model..

Superb models, the Crown St layout captures the look of the area really well.
