Our annual Model Railway Exhibition will be taking place as usual in the Engine House this weekend

We will be open from 10:00 until 17:00 each day, and steam passenger trains will be operating regularly between 11:00 and 16:30 on both days. Light refreshments are available as usual in our shop/café.

Admire the models set amongst the real thing in our Engine House and you can travel on a full size steam train. There is also the opportunity to drive a full size steam locomotive, now in their third century of operation at Middleton. We will also be operating 'Driver for a fiver' on one of our locomotives - when did you last do that at a Model Railway Exhibition?

Locomotives in use on the line will include Manning Wardle “Sir Berkley” and NER H Class 1310. Both locomotives will haul passenger trains and operate on the ‘Driver for a Fiver’ services.

We are expecting up to fourteen layouts in a variety of scales: O, OO and N. Layouts will include Leem Vista (Hornby live steam), Guy's cuttings (N 1950s/60s steam and diesel), Leeds Weeklyn Hill shed (an imaginary Leeds shed in the 1950s/1960s), Levisham (N gauge in the preservation era, Sabden Glen (OO Scotland) and Wentholm (OO fictional Yorkshire light railway).

Reminding us that model railways are fun too we have vintage Tri-ang OO and Big Big, Lego Duplo and Tomy Thomas - all upstairs in our 'play room'.
Traders will include DC kits/Realtrack Models, Keith's Model Railway, Leeds Transport Historical Society and second hand tables.

This is an event for all the family - not just the modeller. When the non-modellers have exhausted the facilities we offer at Moor Road we have Middleton Woods and Park at the top of the line, the Tulip Retail Park is opposite and the White Rose Shopping Centre is just a short distance away. We pride ourselves on a welcome for all - come and experience it for yourselves.
