Does anyone know what hauled the last steam hauled Belle over the Mid Hants and which direction it was going. Plus was this working also piloted over the Mid Hants and if so which loco piloted the Belle over the Mid Hants.

    Thanks

The Mid Hants have posted on their Facebook Event page that the timetable is expected to be out by the end of this week. Looking forward to seeing it. Have the MHR considered running earlier/evening trains for this gala, out of interest?

Booked my tickets for July 1st and 2nd. Looking forward to the event. I've missed 34046 (as 34052) twice at Haywards Heath so yet to see her in disguise and not seen 35006 or 34053 yet.

Very impressive it is too. Fair play to the folks behind this one. It must have given them a few headaches!
One question though. The Special featured in the timetable for the second weekend is not in the key. Will this be a longer formation of carriages to form the Bournemouth Belle?
Will this be the biggest Gala to have taken place on the MHR with seven steam loco's and two diesel in action?

Quick question does anyone know if the carriage sets will be longer than normal (at galas). Will be traveling on the 2nd in a party of 5 including a 9 month old, thinking of potential overcrowding!

The War in the Line sets were 6 but I don't think the MHR has enough stock to do this with such an intensive service

From what I've heard, it did.......

At least every day is different & not the same loco on the same diagram & good to see the RAT out on the evening of the 2nd Saturday with 35006 & 34081 on the other service. :)

The answer to that is, go and see. Think the "Pines Express" from last year......... ;)

Putting a tractor on a train due to be steam-hauled? That'll annoy a fair few in the "What's Going On" section.

    Thanks for this.
I hope this hasn't gone to the printers yet as I have noticed a conflict between this set piece guide and the timetable. The Class 33 towing the engines to Ropley is shown as operating only on the 9th July on the timetable but on the set piece guide it says it is only operating on the 1st July. I would imagine that the 9th is the correct date?
Great work from the MHR though for supplying this guide.

Rest assured, the 9th is the correct date. I've sent the railway an email and they are aware of this.

I've just been scanning some slides from the 2007 End of Southern Steam Event, held on the 7th and 8th of July.

Not the whole time. There was plenty of sun on the Saturday but it was unusually cool for July and quite windy too.
