I agree that 30007 on two coaches would draw the crowds. After all it was cut up in the 1950s! ;)

So the MHR might have a diesel Gala this year after all!

Whoops! A T1 (yes I did have to look it up) certainly looks rather good, perhaps a newbuild project... MR REEDER, CAN YOU HELP? :D

That's a bit harsh. A mixed traction gala would be more appropriate ;-)

Not quite so unlikely as you might think, Alex. There is a boiler at (I think) the Avon Valley Railway whihc apparently belonged to a T1. I have not heard of any serious plan for a Beachy Head"-style project in the offing, but the boiler is in safe keeping for now, so one day perhaps... Mind you, I believe that the same boiler also was used on the "Jubilee" 0-4-2s (i.e, the Adams LSWR variety as opposed to the Stanier LMS 4-6-0s) so when this boiler does eventually become the focus of a new-build project, it may end up on an 0-4-2 tender engine, as this is a wheel arrangement not represented among working locos (regrettably, neither Lion nor Gladstone are likely to steam again)

I've just looked at the BBC weather forecast for Friday and the weekend. I think you put the kiss of death on it by saying it's looking good. BBC weather now showing rain for Friday and possibly a short period of rain on Sunday. Let's hope it's wrong and it doesn't rain.

Just seen another forecast on ITV and it's now looking pretty grim for Friday with wind and rain. :( What a bugger! We can only attend on the Friday as we are out on the B1 on Saturday.

Blimey, five years ago. Time flies past. A good run that one. I hope the B1 puts up a good show on Saturday.

Looks like a weekend for "atmospheric" shots Lee
I might just carry on with a bit of bank clearance over the weekend....that would upset the video chaps though, especially in my new, improved hi-vis trousers!!

The freight has just been shunted into the headshunt at Alresford.....perhaps D6836 might get chance to pull it again.
Duty Druid is running a book on how long Wadebridge will last :(

Would an T1, or Adams 0-4-2 fit the same era as the brighton coaches, ie very early Southern era, could lottery help be found for a new build program? assuming the TI boiler was availible
