I think you need to read 21D's post again. He didn't say they had a very good 33, he said they would be content with a very good 33. Two different things I think.

This issue has been discussed before and there where a few members on this forum that got them self’s all whipped up over this issue at the spring gala. Only to find there was a timetable available on the web site a few days before the gala. Now let’s please not go down this road again.

Looking forward to the event (shame about 33208 though...) I'll be travelling down Friday morning and stopping until Saturday in the area. A timetable (and roster!) to aid my journey planning on the Friday would be helpful please? It's a long drive from West Yorkshire!

I have a £40 travelodge room (non-refundable) booked at Sutton Scotney for Friday night but in view of the lack of information (not even a basic timetable available at this stage) I will now spend Friday/Saturday preparing for the Middleton gala in Leeds. Poor show I'm afraid.

Why dont you contact the railway, as said before we released the spring gala timetable about this amount of days before last time! I know that talks of locos are to be ready to be off shed at 8.30, end of the day the galas STILL ON even though no information has been posted (you've got locos and will get a timetable while you're there) maybe if you've got a travel lodge booked you should have a rethink!

    Im confussed .

You would rather lose £40 then to come down and know your ride behind the locos anyways . Yes , i admit there may not be no timetable on the website . But we all know that the diesels hired in and the home fleet will be running .

Reasonable points made in the last two posts but at the end of the day it is a 480 mile round trip, I don't know how many trips I can have behind which locos (and 33208 WAS the main attraction for me anyway) and it will probably cost me another £34 for 2 day rover tickets plus food, souvenirs etc. All is not lost, I'll get some more time preparing things for the Middleton gala next weekend instead and wife and daughter get to see a bit more of me...

Sincere best wishes for a successful event but I'm not sure that a significant number of the diesel market will appreciate your lack of timetable/roster at this late stage. I hope to be back when 33208 is in better health and I don't have an event of my own to prepare for!

Chris and the rest of the MHR guys,
Please dont bite on this but people have been trying to contact the railway.
I have emailed and received no reply. I have phoned and got told that they didnt know what the timetable was.

This is not the way to run a successful gala.

Your railway is getting lots of negative publicity (see the likes of Pres Diesels and WNXX). This is not good.
There have been some negative comments here too.
This is not the first time.
Your railway needs the likes of you guys to point out to those in the MHR management what comments are being made.

And please dont go off in a huff. This is written with the best intentions.

Just a few of the several pages of negative posts on other forums re the inability of MHR to grasp that not publishing a timetable or roster for this event is costing the railway lot of lost revenue.
Interestingly, several of those posting are diesel group working members/loco owners and certainly not freeloading photographers.

1)''I have rung the railway to ask whether loco rosters would be made available before the event to which the reply i received was

'No, you will receive them when you purchase your ticket!'

    I will not be attending!''

    '2)'Great idea not publishing diagrams.

Saves me a day of holiday, two nights accomodation,a 500 mile round trip and the cost of a three day rover.''

3)They've done this before! I wasn't being sarcastic with my earlier post. Last time I went there was a considerable extra ching for diagrams. That's probably why I haven't been back for a good 7 or 8 years...

Thanks for confirming anyway, I definitely won't be going then. Sorry but I don't want to risk wasting my time by turning up to find the loco I want to ride behind is either spare or a brake translator all day.

Treatment required for a gunshot wound to the foot in Hampshire perhaps?
