What I said was shame the railway doesn't publicise a roster so we know what engines are out and we can all make an informed choice on what day to visit. If the SVR, SDR and Mid Hants can do it among others I am sure Swanage could as well. Is Manston out again this weekend? Sunday is looking sunny.

Shame it wasn't being driven like that on Sunday - might have spilt the soup though!

These discussions in threads always seem to change - Can someone confrim if Manston will definately be turning up for the Eastleigh 100 and at the MHR later on in the year?

Well it has been listed on the Eastleigh 100 site for sometime... unless something happens to stop 34070 from coming i would have thought it safe to say she will be attending. Also the SLlt website has confirmed it:

And with the MHR gala... can't we just wait until the MHR (or SLlt) make an announcement? It is more or less half a year away. Best to wait for something official to be said on either parties websites?

Does anyone have any info' about the possibility of Manston working service trains this saturday, the 4th??

I've got some time off work to travel down from Yorkshire, if anyone is able to take some of the guesswork out of the trip that would be great.

    Thanks!!

Thanks to everyone for the information, I enjoyed travelling behind Manston for the first time yesterday, the 600 mile round trip was well worth it.

Interesting to see the railways website now shows the locos intended for service.

Please note that Manston will not be running on Wed/ thur this week due to drivers' lack of traction knowledge.
80078 will be in service instead.

Manston & 80078 both in service over Easter.

As a result if info supplied here and on Swanage website-looks like a trip to the south coast is in order this weekend for 34070.

She was going OK yesterday when I was the ticket inspector on that train.

I took a video clip of the engine with my new camera and whatching it later I noticed a sort of high pitched 'running noise', is that the chain vavle gear going round? It doesn't seem to be a noise which 'Eddystone' makes.
