    Hi
Thanks- yest I've just spotted the 3 early photo mornings now on NRM's website.
I had a look this morning at HR's Facebook site and it appears they have taken the supposed "breaking news" re: extended Mallard 75 - didn't have long to check though.
I suspect NRM will make an announcement if the event is to be extended. It will be great if it is true though as it gives us all more opportunity to enjoy having all 6 of the A4s here in York.
Will keep my eyes out for any announcement..

From the Icons of Steam website : -

    26th October to 11th November – The Great Gathering – No. 4464

A second chance to see Bittern, Mallard and the other four surviving members of the A4 class around
the turntable in the Great Hall at the National Railway Museum, York.

Phoned this morning and booked two tickets for the tenth of November, spoke to a lady who informed me of tickets for the 3 days still available. This was after I spoke to someone Saturday saying they had all gone, so I think hr had got ahead of the nrm before they knew themselves?

So York and shildon photo events booked :)

    Hi

This was on the HR website when I went on there a few minutes ago- see link below:

    http://www.heritagerailway.co.uk/news/three-more-days-for-the-autumn-great-gathering

Also this taken from the NRM website under Mallard 75:

"When is the next opportunity for me to see the 6 A4's together?
In York's Great Hall from 26 October until the 11 November"

This is good news - well done NRM and all the loco owners/ interested parties for making this happen.

As part of Mallard 75 the NRM held a panel of A4 footplate men doing a Q&A session

I was at this last Wednesday, and boy was it popular!! Enjoyable non the less :)

The only criticism I have, and this is meant to be constructive, is the NRM missed a trick with the A4's in the evening.............................they should have been cordoned off, and people made to use the turntable as a vantage point so that everyone could have a fair crack of the whip!!.............................. you could not get anywhere near the stars of the show.................................................... I got mightily fed up with people shoving ipads/tablets/mobiles/point & shoot camera's right into shot just as I was about to press the shutter! As I said, NOT a moan, but a suggestion.................................

    Anyway two galleries from me.......................................

    The Gathering................................

    A Night At The Museum.............................................

Interesting programme on Radio 4 Extra this afternoon about Mallard 80. Repeated tonight, believe 8.30pm.
Discusses the LMS/LNE rivalry, their agreement not to undercut each other's journey times, their streamlines and ultimately Mallard's record breaking run. Worth half an hour of anyone's time.
