Ah I see, so the Rowley Moor Farm parcel of trackbed is not actually at Rowley Cross, that was my confusion!

Chris, apologies for the confusion. I obviously had a senior moment in my haste to respond before rushing off to a hospital appointment. The trackbed at Rowley Cross is owned by the Trust and is located east of Bridge 58 and extends out towards the River Heddon. Whereas the 'Higher Bodley' trackbed is so named because it cuts through Higher Bodley Farm sandwiched between between Bridges 63 and 65.

I had more success at the hospital so I'll shut-up now I'm winning again.

    Chris

I am aware planning permission would be an issue, hence why I said realistically there would be issues with the idea I suggested, though as mentioned on this thread, there is precendent for railways running short lengths of track temporarily, to advertise their plans for extension. As for the issue of who'd run it, my idea was really based on the assumption that the LBR would run it, since their the ones who actually have coaches locomotives available for use.

Perhaps Axe and a carriage or two could be utilised, though as I said before, this is something for later when their actually extending that way, if they wished to do such a thing.

Exmoor Associates don't have any rolling stock, but a company with largely the same directors does have management of a steam locomotive...

Running something at Snapper is a bit of a logistical non-starter, even track with some tarted up wagons wouldn't be that visible from the road. Best leave it as it is at the moment.

Fair enough, just a passing thought really and I figured logistically it would be difficult to say the least.

Although... how about the Chelfham Station grounds instead then? :p

If readers of these pages were to visit North Devon during the weekend 26 - 27 September not only could they go and see for themselves the improvements at Snapper Halt, they could also fit in a visit to Woody Bay for the Autumn Gala. Please see attached pdf for details

Just a quick reminder! The L&BR Autumn Gala will be on this coming Saturday and Sunday, 26 - 27 September.

This page http://www.lynton-rail.co.uk/ shows a few more details which do not appear in the poster.

The weather forecast is promising so do come and enjoy wonderful trains in glorious scenery and (hopefully!) bright autumn sunshine!

Latest magazine confirms that the planning permission application has been submitted. Results should be within 6 months....

Apart from Jeremy Corbyn winning the Labour Party leadership, this is the best news this year so far..

Also, hints in the latest magazine that more parcels of trackbed may be purchased soon - at least that negotiations are under way.

I've seen someone post on Facebook saying that Blanche is in use this week. Can someone confirm if Blanche should be running on Saturday?

Blanche was at the Gala last weekend. The website says 'Ffestinog Railway's Blanche will be hauling the service trains this week'. The timetable for this week is at http://www.lynton-rail.co.uk/files/embedded/Timetable/Timetable-sheet-2015.htm
This suggests Blanche will be running on Saturday and Sunday, but if you want to be sure, phone: 01598 763487

According to my calcs. they have not bought the cutting/embankment sides and so I wonder how these elements will be maintained being in other ownership..

I wonder what led to that conclusion? Does it say somewhere that the sides were not bought?
