There was an approved Planning application to make changes to the OSHI - this ran out of time and was resubmitted in 2019 - this has still not been determined - there were lots of objections from locals who thought that this would result in the closure of the Pub. So I think that the long term plan is to include the Booking Office with the OSHI.

The irony of all this is that the current owner was one of those who objected to the change in the first place maybe someone should tell him.

Apart from the fact that those who had objected had clearly not read all the Planning Application documentation in sufficient detail (it is hard not to assume that many of them were 'encouraged' to object and simply repeated what others had said almost parrot-fashion), one might argue that this was yet another example where - maybe in hindsight - it could be shown that the Trust failed to 'engage' sufficiently with the local population beforehand :-(

I never understood that objection, nor the denial that any negotiations had ever taken place. Still cannot.
Cognitive dissonance is the expression which springs to mind.

    Good negotiating tactic.

Denial of an approach being made happened at the RVR - but a detailed log was presented to the Public Inquiry!

They must think that people are really stupid, when they know there's a paper trail. What do they expect?

Not if the other side can produce a sheaf of correspondence. The all you can hope for is that your perfidious claim gets lost in the noise of other's protest.

I suppose they'd need to ruin the appearance of the L&B carriages with all sorts of safety rails and put Ffesterbahn style rat-tail gantries by every overbridge to achieve that sort of capacity! :(

Very good, but I still think I preferred it when it had steam engines 50 odd years ago. W. G. Bagnall 2453 of 1932. Gwalior NM class 4-6-2 No 760 WB2453-32 4.4.71 A.JPG

Have the L&B partnered up with a framing service? I'd hate to think any trick had been missed. :)

Yes it is tomorrow, the trouble is that most of those that will be there won't have a clue as to what is going on in the back ground, just because they have issued the share certificates does not mean they own the pub yet, it just means they have your money.
