I think Nigel Dobbings(?) said that 5305 was signed up to power these trips a few months ago. He made that comment here on this forum.

Nigel Dobbin may have said that but at the moment I believe that 5305 is still on the GCR and has been dropped from the Crewe Pool.

    An interesting movement for Monday:
    TBA: Carnforth-Hellifield-Carnforth E+C
Interesting in the fact that they booked a test run for something but I'm guessing they don't want to advertise what it's for. What's sitting at WCRC ready to be tested???

61994 is the best guess. 45699 is a very slight maybe but most probably not.

Crewe to Chester and return is the usual first light test run for a Crewe repair/rebuild. Just seen UKSteam, 4 Times!! well should be able to catch one of those runs...

That's a shame. I too had a faint glimmer of hope that it may have been 45699. Nevermind, one day, maybe!

Excellent photos but that orange line is a little overdone. We don't want A4s to look like Jaffa Cakes do we?

60009 reported to have four hot boxes at Chester 1200. Dunno how severe the problem is.

if 60009 isn't fixed by wednesday and can't make it, I agree with your best guess as it was in steam last week, probably a steam test, could be a chance to use the booked path. mere speculation!....

Can't see 60009 doing another test for a few days at least, first find the problem and rectify it 6 times, all takes time and man power.
46233 will probably do the Scarborough Flyer, Friday that just leaves, CME, NWCE and Moorlander to find motive power for???:confused1:

Hopefully 60009 will be on a return to Chester again tonight with the six hot axleboxes having been changed at Chester and reported cool on return to Crewe so fingers crossed for her.

no, why should it, 46115 went last Friday, yes there is a tour next Sunday but 48151 has done the Fellsman last two runs and some of us hope we see a different engine on it this week, and anyway Guardsman is only running tues to thurs so surely it can do the waverley? ...perhaps!

the ECS for the Scarborough Spa Express was hauled by 37767 to York, saw it leave.
