Thanks for that David, I thought maybe it would be diesel hauled to Toton with looking at the timings.

I wonder if you could get all three whistling at speed together?

Thanks for posting times 5944 and thanks for the text message last night B1. Much appreciated. I nearly wasn't going to bother but when I checked the Uksteam info page this morning and found 70000 was going to be in the formation as well I decided this couldn't be missed so hastily asked for a half day and fortunately got it. A mate is also going to see the convoy near Ash somewhere. He had a half day planned for other things but he has quickly changed his plans since hearing about this! Got a bit worried though when I just looked at the Uksteam info page and it says Saturday on the timing for this move! Seems to be a lot going on on the Line through Aldershot today as on the way home from work when cycling along a path next to the railway two 73's went racing past me with the yellow Network rail stock.

Here is the impressive convoy after leaving Aldershot:

MHR gAll.jpg mh gala move 2.jpg

I knew they were coming as there was a lot of whistling (could have been all of them as they all have chime whistles!) as they passed through Aldershot. Rather frustratingly the sun disappeared as they approached and came out after they had passed. An impressive sight though.

Nice pics GF...you managed to get all the locos in the picture, which is more that I did.

I see you were risking Green Lane again..........no sign of the FUZZ this time I hope!

Thanks B1. They caught me a little off-guard as they were going faster than I expected. Also the bushes in the field were a little annoying, they were right in the way!
No fuzz this time! There was a small crowd of observers this time so I would have been okay. I did wonder if the fuzz would turn up again though.

I'm guessing that she'll be in Bristol by now if she's still running on time as she was outside Romsey.
