Why resize to reduce quality. I'm proud of what I create and enjoy creating and sharing images hence hope others share my pleasure :Resistanceisfutile:

That's a strange comment. Apart from the courtesy of not taking up too much server space what resizing does is make it easer and quicker for some devices to load the image. That seems like a benefit for everyone given that this is not a photographic club site.

A lot of forums actually restrict the size of images that can be posted for those very reasons.
Incidentally reducing the size does not reduce the quality.

......especially when viewed on a small screen. And the fact that many high quality photographers manage the 'size' request without loss of image quality says it all.

46100 Royal Scot charges through Hartford station in the later stages of its roundabout journey from the NYMR at Grosmont to Crewe on 20th February 2024.

    EOS 5D Mark IV_240220_6125.jpg

Even with the benefit of modern station lighting it was necessary to shoot at 6400ISO with my lens wide open at f2.8 in order to get a high enough shutter speed to limit motion blur.

    Cheers,

A trio of shots of theA4 today, all around Beeston and Tarporley.

    _24Z0249 60007 Beeston & Tarporley 260224.jpg

The afternoon run to Chester ran early as did the return, in fact over an hour ahead of the booked schedule passing Beeston & Tarporley only 9 minutes behind the preceding TfW train, so is accelerating from being checked. _24Z0273 60007 Beeston & Tarporley signal box 260224.jpg
