Thanks everyone for braving the weather to get those pictures. Nice to see an old friend back on the mainline. Being air-braked and very gauge-friendly, there should be no shortage of work for Tangmere. Cumbrian Coast, perhaps?

In his YouTube comments, Liam refers to Tangmere as "dramatic" and it's true she was a bit of a drama queen towards the end of her last ticket. Passengers and linesiders wouldn't know whether they were going to witness a stunning performance or a sulky clank with lots of rear-end assistance. I'm sure she'll still have her "moments" but here's hoping the latest overhaul has left her in fine fettle, ready to repeat her best work

Personally, I hope she's rostered for days 2 & 3 of GB14, Edinburgh to Inverness and back to Stirling. I grew up with tales of Bert Hooker's exploits on the Highland line during the '48 loco exchanges. It would be wonderful to see them recreated.

I'm curious to know what the plan is for Tangmere, for the rest of this year. Is the plan to go down south, for some of the Christmas Market trips. Or stay at Carnforth until the new year. To make sure she's ready for Northern Belle's which start again February I believe.

Pretty sure 34092 did on the Sellafield Sightseers in the 80s.

34092 also went to Maryport on 26th August 1985 on a Cumbrian Coast Express. 850 did the return on an all Southern Day up north.

Wow...that's a very unusual shot, but terrific composition.....well done sir!...right time, right place and an eye for a shot. It's not the camera, it's the eye behind the camera. You certainly have that...again well done...

Hopefully it isn't marooned on the Belle, as that's a show pony train if I've ever seen one.

If that was advertised I'd book it. Unfortunately, the motive power for these are rarely advertised in advance.

Yes, get it on the first WCME ! That would be a great way to start 2022 and it would certainly sell quickly if advertised as Tangmere up top.

I imagine Tangmere's programme will be very different this time, previously she was very busy but almost entirely used down south, now WCRC are not doing a great deal down there I suspect she will be much more northern based, plus add into the equation being the only home owned loco that can do the Northern Belles I imagine that will be the bulk of her use, there seem to be more and more Northern Belle trains (maybe spruced with the whole Golden Arrow embellishments), plus limiting her to those will attract a bit of prestige with those who want a run behind her having to pay that little bit extra.
