Some interesting routings. I wonder what rules the elves were working to. Looks like the new international version of Mornington Crescent (which seems to be missing)

This is one of the hyper drive conversions I believe, but it appears to have gone well, the modified hyper drive cooling system must be working to spec now.

What RTT doesn't show is he also passed through many closed stations. He was 1L at Daggon's Rd, the nearest station to my mum's place

RTC have only suggested that it is 'a rare opportunity' to do it by steam, and it will still be the first revenue-earning steam hauled passenger train over the curve since reinstatement. So no official claim has been scuppered as of yet.

Thanks for posting that. Might well be worth a run out to Lancaster or Woodacre, though the forecast is for gloom. Knowing my luck there will be a 47 dragging the whole consist!

Same as me John, if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all! I'll probably nip down to Castleton to witness the shunt moves. At least they will be stopped at some point and I'll have chance of a photo in the gloom.

Hadn't considered it in such depth. In any case it's more appropriate motive power to go West for the first time since the end of steam. I was actually surprised this pair weren't ceremonially booked in the first place.
