I assume 60103 is the movement for Saturday leaving York at 4.30am for Carnforth. Not aware of any confirmed timings as yet for the Hadrian.

60103 already facing south and in light steam when I passed at 1850 today so the part of the move to Thrall should not be needed:

you can argue the choice of colour for the class of loco as much as you like, but visually it looks very smart with its matching support coach.

Agreed and so much more interesting than the black one. I took a picture of Leander at Holyhead in the early 2000's, it looked an absolute treat in full LMS lined livery, what a difference today. But as we all say, owner's prerogative!

I saw her come through Crosshills then went to Hellifield where there was a significant Police presence and around five photographers!! I then went to the West Coast Railways shed adjacent to the line, where an over zealous Network Rail guy tried to stop me taking photos as I had crossed a (diss-used/abandoned) piece of track. I have been at the same spot many times along with many others and never been moved on before. As a point of interest the NR man told me he had been told by his bosses to expect hundreds of cars at the shed site, when the sum total was one car, mine!!

I too called in at Hellifield to be greeted by 10 police , who weren't allowing anyone along the platform to see Scotsman, probably more police than spectators at the time! - went up to Giggleswick where 1 police bike rider came and checked the half dozen or so were behaving then rode off - dont think i will bother with Scotsman again for a while
