Like that pic.. Well done :) Just a shame that everyone got their hopes up for Tangmere. Keep hearing from an employee at Southall that everyone at the depot has their fingers crossed for the 'Spam Can' to be on Saturday's Statesman tour.

Thanks for the kind comment. :)

The location is getting worse to photograph at due to a severe outbreak of Buddleia's encroaching into the six foot to the left.............................................

My footage of 5029's test run to Didcot. Not the best video, but it's something.

Speaking of 5029, it's doing a LE movement from Southall to Par on the 26th. Will be good to see it go past Dawlish, especially with the other tour scheduled that day.

Certainly didn’t see this one coming, but it looks like the Daily Mail is now getting to grips with its own coverage of LE movements. The on-line version of the DM is currently offering some nice images of Bittern’s 5Z25 Crewe-Grosmont move yesterday (Tuesday 22nd), photographed at Yarm.

OK, so you can take or leave some of the accompanying copy (and, for that matter, some of the comments made in response to the article). But I find it heartening that, far beyond the confines of the railway enthusiast community, there remains a real recognition of the striking impact of the style and design of the A4 on the public at large.

Agreed and I have to say that 60007 in its current configuration is a welcome addition to the main line fleet and arguably as important especially when you realise that it remains the fastest operational A4 since WWII. I just don't understand why the loco owners haven't played on this much more with the media. 94.6....what about 112!

Thank you David; was able to see the E&C through York station only a few minutes late, no 'box'.

And therefore the fastest British steam loco since WW2, operational or otherwise?

Wait, wasn't there a gauging issue with the A4's at Carlisle? Confused.com....
