Indeed it isn't. It was removed by lorry from Quorn - Allelys Heavy Haulage posted a photograph on Facebook showing it leaving on the back of one of their low-loaders.

The GCR really needs to get that "missing link" filled in.

NR are putting the Bridge back, but there is an awful lot more to do before the link can be used. Other bridges to be overhauled or constructed, embankment to restore. (The old embankment was removed by BR to construct the chord line in the late 70's). It is a massive undertaking, but there is a massive determination to see it succeed.
As they say on the GC "FORWARD"

This won't join GCR to the network though will it? I understand this is just linking the GCR with the GCR(N) making a longer heratige line instead of 2 shorter ones.
Is my understanding of this correct? It's surely just 'bridging the gap' between the 2 preserved railways and passing over the main line.

But the GCR(N) is connected by the chord at Loughborough.

Ahhhhhhhhh I didn't know that. Another reason why GCR are so keen to get the link then.
Strange that GCR(N) had Black Prince then Wadebridge for their recent gala, both to be brought in by low loader, rather run something in off the mainline. The cost difference must be huge.

neither 92203 nor 34007 are main line passed . Even to be dragged would require a lot of examinations which ultimately cost ££££ and probably make it more expensive than a low loader

Oh I get that, but why not go for a main line cert loco I meant, think 8K was the road transport cost that was being mentioned. Ouch.
Anyway, well off topic, very sorry!!

I've never tried this YouTube uploading before, so this is by way of a test to see if it works.

Tornado heading south through Widdrington Station this week.

Regarding rumours of a proving run for 34046 on 1st July.
Has anyone spotted a relevant move on rtt from ELR to substantiate this?

It's worth noting that this left Preston 123 minutes early. The test run schedule has plenty of stops built in and if these are not taken, as often happens, two hours early from Preston is the result, catching out many photters.
