    Erm, I think that same smear could be made to apply to most nationalities. Even just in railway circles there are plenty who think nothing beyond Dover (or Harwich) is worth noticing. And there were plenty who thought like that back in the day too.
    I have never found Chinese people particularly blinkered - I think that tends to be more associated with Island nations...
