Public liability insurance-should have anyway,as most self employed people with property do.
Planning permission-for what a mobile 6ft tall human structures?
Tax man-no -as self employed will fill in a tax return anyway and just declare additional income on it.

Sound's like a shopping list of none existent excuses, we already have footpaths, we already have open access, farmers already allow voluntary access, there been a field near me that has been like this for over 10 years now, there's even a steam rally in the field once a year, of course they will be insured for the event. Health and Safety is often used as an excuse but if people look a little deeper there isn't any health and safety issue, it is just being used to fob people off.

Had only time on friday to go lineside for a couple of hours due to work commitments but also had an enjoyable time aswell despite the gloom & little bit of drizzle at times.
Just a pity it started to improve when I had to leave

Went to the Worth Valley today. Once again thoroughly enjoyed the event as usual when I go up to the K&WVR.

44767 & 44871 performed well, along with the home fleet. Probably the last time I'll see the Jinty as her boiler ticket will be up by the time the Autumn Gala approaches.

An excellent visit to the KWVR today (Saturday) - well done to all for putting on a superb show.

Trains seemed busier than the October gala, which must be good news for the KWVR.

Not sure why Nunlow wasn't out today, or why the timetable almost dropped by 30 minutes by 1600-1630, but neither of these made any difference to a cracking day out.

Top marks to 44767 on the 1505 limited stop run, that was great entertainment, 80002 on the 1215 was another good run as well.

    Cheers

Nunlows gauge glass failed and so it was taken out of service for the day to be fixed not sure if it will be out today (sun) as to the timetable on Friday someone decide to get on the train at Ingrow as it was leaving and forced the crew to stop in the tunnel which is not the best place to stop as the cabs stared to fill up with smoke the crews had to jump off before passing out and so the timetable was down by about 20 mins.

I was there yesterday. Fantastic conditions and the drivers of 44767 and 80002 were in psycho-mode all day!! 44871 and 90733 also put in strong performances. Brilliant!

Many thanks to those who organised and took part in a highly enjoyable event. I attended on Friday when the weather, to put it positively, was more condusive to good smoke effects. On this day 44871 was unquestionably the star with a series of fine performances, especially the non-stop run through Oakworth with the goods. There seemed to be organisational problems at Keighley where time was lost to such an extent that the lunchtime local was cancelled. Whether this was the reason for the body language and facial expression of the driver in my video below, I do not know!
