managed to get a few photos of 63601 just before the bridge on the shed, will post tomrrow along with a load of other photo's. 85 & 957 were in fine form over the weekend. due to mix up on my part I missed the gresley run late saturday, was in the car eating my fish & chips when I heard it go by, DOH.

With the weather for cast being a verry good for the weekend, fire is going to be a major hazerd, I put out 5 scrub fires mainly on the bank upto Oakworth on sunday myself, only one there. There were several others as well. I would suggest leaving one or two fire beaters (brushers etc) around to help, with the number of line siders we can put them out but the write equipement would help, my rite boot was getting a tad hot.

Haha, yeah i know the feeling i stopped 957 at the top of Keighley bank on Sunday because of a fire, i managed to get the edges but by the time i'd got there, there was no way i was trampling it out, the driver said there was a huge one somewhere around Damems too...

I look forward to your footage Kenneth, and will most likely bump into you at the end of the week.

I saw the one at Damens, the guys in the signal box were just setting of to put it out as I set of back to Oakworth, got round the corner and there were 3 fires on the bank, Penny thought it was doing some sort of fire dance.

Will be there all 3 days, hopefully not putting out to many fires.

BY the way, anyone know if the evening Ribblehed trip goes over the viaduct or just upto it?

As far as I know, we don't have any beaters, the usual tool is a shovel !

    In answer to some questions:

Mainline shuttles operate on rover tickets only - these are the "all lines rover tickets" and not the KWVR rovers

The evening train does go over Ribblehead Viaduct - goes as far as Blea Moor - does also stop at Ribblehead station

Fires - well using vintage engines does have its draw backs, all we can hope for is that they are not too bad and that help will be given

37516 is meant to be the proposed WCRC loco

Wouldn't take much to make a few. Broom handle with a bit of rubber nailed on the end. Would be far more effective than boots and save a few scorched soles!

There seemed to be a lot of people riding the trains, but not so many by the track

Just returned home after two long days at the railway, had a wonderful trip out yesterday on 957, on the freight and on 5690's support coach, although the camera with the best footage on from on board 957's footplate has broken after the freight trip :| Therefore i doubt i'll get that footage back... :( Although it's going back on Monday for fixing, we may be able to get it back, theres still tones of other footage on 957's footplate although from another camera :p

Thanks to Kieran for the accomodation, driving etc....

I shall upload a couple of taster clips on Monday after i've recovered from one final day tomorrow.

Orders are now been taken for the DVD aswell more details available here, and 50 copies will be delievered to the railway on Thursday, the DVD will be available at just £9.99 (inc P&P) until Saturday 5th June when the price will increase to £11.98, that reduction isn't applicable when buying from the KWVR and they will be selling them at £12.98.

Nice to see that you got the 04 running in the afternoon and that the weather turned nice & sunny. Later on the way home heading into deepest Lancs, it turned nasty with local flooding by the time I arrived home.
Is the 04 running on Sunday? it seemed that it was being pushed along towards Oxenhope by the Std tank.

A short video of Leander climbing past Helwith Bridge on the Saturday evening shuttle to Blea Moor is at:

If you get the chance to ride behind her this evening then I would grab it - superb noise echoing round the hills.

Leander was nearly as noisy as 37516 this morning! Excellent mini-tour and good value at £22, shame there were too many steam engines about really..!

Oh sorry, it was a steam gala...! ;-)
