Looking forward to it, assumed all locos will face into Tenterden?

I'm certainly very tempted by this event as I'll be "darn sarf" for the Mid-Hants gala, but I'm just worried whether the short trains may be overwhelmed with passengers. I would be rather disappointed if I paid for a rover ticket, but was unable to ride behind some of the locos due to not being able to get a seat. The vintage set with Marcia and the two visiting locos is likely to be the most popular, but it looks like this will consist of 3 third class compartments and 7 first class compartments (less than 90 seats I think - I assume that the 1st class compartments will be available to everyone?), and the Mark 1 set will probably have similar seating capacity (although standing is possible in Mark 1s, but not really in the vintage set).

I share the same concerns in regard to short trains

    Morning all,

The plan is that all the locos will face Tenterden with the exception of the Terrier which is already facing Bodiam.

1st class is declassified for the weekend so you can sit wherever you like. The train service is fairly intensive and with the workshop tours at Rolvenden we are expecting the flow of people to be continuous. It will be great fun and I can’t wait!

A thoroughly excellent day today. A really fun event that IMO had a real air of Col. Stephens about it. I was thinking about going to the MHR gala Sunday but I may return for a second helping of dwarves.

It was a throughly enjoyable event and showcased the best of the Kent and East sussex railway, vintage carriages and engines recreating the light railway of the past. Plenty to see and kept my three children (7, 6 and 2) entertained as well.

The only downside to the day was the price of a pint in the Old Dairy Taproom. £6+. Ouch! Nothing to do with the KESR of course as it’s not their taproom.

Echoing the above, but visited Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it - hopefully it'll be in the calendar again next year?!
