WOW! Seen them all many times but to see them all together will be something pretty special!

Definitely not the 10 someone in here suggested then! A nice line up

That was never realistic at all. Someone would need to open their chequebook wide for that.

Plus a railway the size of Swanage, you don't want many more otherwise each loco would get minimal running each day.

Good to see 35006 in the line up. Only it's 2nd visit away from the GWSR too isn't it?

Really hoping I can make it.

Fairly sure that's the only other trip away it's had. Despite doing 2 days at that event, I didn't do many trips behind it or 34081 (although I've had plenty behind that during it's first ticket).

One of the highlights of that event was 35006 hauling the 8 coach Bournemouth Belle over the Alps. Sounded great.
The event at Swanage in June is very tempting....

Just hope there is enough coaching stock to make up 3 sets or perhaps better two six coach sets. If no engineering work or strikes we will go via Soton Wareham and bus 40. This has always worked but the 40 gets very crowded. If not then we will drive and stay a night at our favourite hotel in Corfe

I guessed an "MN" would be on Swanage's shopping list. 35028 should be back in action later this month and doesn't (to my knowledge) have any commitments over that weekend and of course, there is another "MN" sitting at Carnforth with not a lot of work at the moment. Still, 35006 is equally good news.

I just hope that this is a well-supported gala given the difficult times the Swanage Railway has experienced financially. It's a superb line-up and thankfully, there are plenty of us who will always be attracted by a Bulleid-fest.

Lot of nice condition maroon Mk1's at some place just off the WCML may not be doing much in June. A donated set of FO's along with a half brake for the weekend may allow for folks to ride in First Class comfort all day and the railway could even impose the table for two supplement a la railtours.
As a well known chain says "every little helps":)

That would be quite a lengthy move compared to, say the East Lancs for their recent gala!

A very interesting event! Likewise just as interesting that they have launched a save our railway appeal but are taking the risk on a very high cost event?

No chance with 35028, it has a full programme for the rest of the year. Don’t forget it’s maintenance, proper action and support crewing are by a relatively small band of volunteers.

    And your point is?
Every railway that organises any even is taking a risk
Is that risk you are talking about a high/medium or low risk. Is the risk reasonable?

I did think if Budget allows, at present there’s going to be little work for 35018 so surely WC would welcome the opportunity for some hire fees…

Do we take it that SKP definitely won’t make it then? Or could it be a last minute addition do we think?

Shocking that Brocklebank Line isn’t on the roster, are they even trying?! Hehe

The last Bulleid Gala was very well supported so no reason to think that the next one will not i am looking forward to June i presume the full length of the line will be used.
