I think that it is just detail work left to do, to be followed by testing in the next few months

Just wondering whether someone in the know can confirm or correct the loco roster for Tues - Thurs this week? The roster has 192 and W8 those three days. Many thanks!

Just to help out, the IWSR Facebook page can be found here - some really good pictures there!

41298 was in steam on Sunday to enable some snagging jobs to be attended to and was then planned to be trialled under traffic conditions on Tuesday and yesterday. As far as I know, no further steamings are planned in the near future.

A formal launch into traffic will follow in due course, so keep an eye out for more news!

Thanks for the update! Do you know if the launch in to traffic is likely to be
    his year?
    TIA

I don't know when the launch will be, although I'm guessing not this year as nothing has been planned as far as I know.

Hopefully the railway will arrange a home fleet gala with all operational locos running, whether Industrial, Ivatt or Southern, and no visiting loco from the mainland.(amended|)

Maybe no visiting locomotives, but we do need visitors from the Mainland - they pay the bills!

The latest Locomotive Engineering News has just been published on the IWSR website. The emphasis is on the forthcoming winter works programme which includes repairs to W8's rear frame, a repaint for W24 into later BR black and ongoing boiler repairs for WD198.

Well, your engineering news update (above) suggests 2016 will be a good time to pay a long-overdue visit to the IoWSR, so I'll hopefully be one more visitor from the mainland to swell the numbers!

It's Wizard Week on the IWSR. Not only do you get the opportunity to meet 'The Witches of Havenstreet' (I get to meet one every day of the year, no need to wait for a special occasion!) but there is also the last chance of 2015 to travel behind 'Terrier' W11. There's a two-train service on Friday and Saturday with W11 on Duty 2.

Lots of Halloween activity to keep the kids occupied - and give you an excuse to visit us!

If you've read our latest Loco Engineering News you will know that W8 'Freshwater' is undergoing extensive repairs this winter. An article about 'Team Terrier', our volunteer loco repair/overhaul gang who will be undertaking much of the work needed, has just been published on the IWSR website.
