Peckett W6 special 0-4-0ST "Merlin" arrived back in Shildon
today from RMS Locotec in Wakefield. A lot of work
has been undertaken but the loco is in bits and i've just got
in from unloading it. No timetable set for a return to steam, the
boiler is off site for overhaul, including a new firebox.

The engine's parts are currently visible in the museum's workshops.

    Cheers
    Anthony

So, are we going to finish Dubsy ? - you lot clearly have time on your hands and are all very clean !.

August 10th - left hand piston day if we can work it out.

Brake cylinder has had replacement area cast & welded in - that just leaves the right hand cylinder to worry about....

Friend of mine is currently building a 7mm 16" barclay kit and is struggling with the layout of the cab. Anyone got any pics that might help with backhead fittings and pipework they can let me have a copy of?

It's the steam stand and layout of the pipework for inectors etc that he wants as he's doing an open back cab, so as long as that is standard(ish) then should be fine, thanks.

Jennifer is coming along nicely as final assembly takes place.
Talk round shed is another month and she'll be out in all her apple green glory, don't quote me on that as it's just a rough idea of when she'll be out not a definite answer.

Oh dear, have just seen a pic of another loco that has succumbed to the "paint it BR" brigade!

Peckett 'Whitehead' at the Midland RC can now justify the name 'Blackhead' being sudo BR blacked with a GW style number plate!!! ](*,)

    And Pamela on the VoGR...

When will it all stop? If it ain't people doing this to industrials, it's people chopping steam rollers into showmans engines in my other steam hobby! ](*,)
