Gosh, you are well informed about the SSN !

They are a little bit like a Tyseley in the Netherlands, with their own main line locos, carriages, turntable, workshop, and spur on to the main line. They got through COVID OK, the current challenge is having a housing estae being built right round them, despite protests. The good news is that their main line trips are doing well, and the annual Christmas excursion is most unusual this year - they have had to double it up, due to the first one being an immediate sell out ! Never seen that before.

41 105 is the next main line engine under overhaul.

Their workshops are open to visitors every Saturday.

The joys of Facebook! They're very good with their social media, enough to keep you informed without being bombarded with updates.

What a long way the SSN has come. From 2 friends who wanted to buy a steam engine each in 1976, being told that the 01.10 would never run as too heavy, to both on the main line double heading.
    Fantastic!

.... and the same loco in Aug.1974 departing Emden over the lifting bridge near Emden MPD. Note the WW2 flack towers in the background.
